📚 Structured Progression:
The course is organised into five levels — Level | School Year | Focus
📌Level 1 | Y1–Y2 | First steps into classics, learning basic reading methods and building habits and interest. Themes include adventure, fairy tales and simple coming-of-age stories.
📌Level 2 | Y3–Y4 | Understanding storylines, expanding vocabulary and improving fluency. Texts cover animal stories, friendship and family themes.
📌Level 3 | Y5–Y6 | Exploring characters and plots in depth, learning literary techniques such as symbolism and narrative structure. Genres include historical novels, fantasy and science fiction.
📌Level 4 | Y7–Y8 | Developing critical analysis and cross-cultural understanding. Books often focus on social issues, cultural exploration and classic long-form works.
📌Level 5 | Y9–Y10 | Advanced literary appreciation, combining creative thinking with critical analysis. Students learn to interpret and express ideas independently, with works drawn from world classics.
Teachers will place students according to their English level. Each stage features 4–6 novels or literary works of varied genres and themes, ensuring steady progress.
